We built Luckyclint for entertainment, and keeping it that way depends on recognising when the balance tips. This page walks through the control tools available through your account, the national support services you can reach right now, and the practical habits that help most people stay in charge.
Why this matters more than the terms
Gambling stops being fun the moment it costs more than you meant to spend, takes time you needed for something else, or leaves you chasing losses instead of enjoying the session. The goal here is not to lecture—it is to give you the specific levers that work before a small problem becomes a larger one.
Our account tools let you set limits on deposits, losses and session length. The national self-exclusion register blocks access across multiple operators at once. And the helpline below connects you to someone trained to listen, not to judge.
Signs gambling is getting out of hand
These behaviours show up long before the money runs out. Catching them early is the difference between a course correction and a crisis.
- You deposit again within minutes of losing, trying to win back what just went.
- You hide deposits or losses from the people you live with.
- You borrow to keep playing, or you skip a bill to fund another session.
- The session runs hours past the point where you meant to stop.
- You feel anxious or irritable when you are not playing.
- You play to escape worry or low mood, not for the game itself.
One of these on its own is not a diagnosis. Three or more together is a pattern worth addressing now rather than later.
Questions worth asking yourself
This is not a clinical assessment—it is a self-check. Answer honestly; nobody sees the result but you.
- Do you gamble with money you set aside for rent, groceries or other necessities?
- Have you lied to someone close to you about how much you have spent or lost?
- Do you feel you need to bet more each time to get the same thrill?
- Have you tried to stop or cut back, and found you could not stick to it?
- Do you gamble to forget problems, or to feel better when you are down?
- After losing, do you return the next day determined to win it back?
- Has gambling cost you a relationship, a job opportunity, or your focus at work?
- Have you sold something, or borrowed money, to keep gambling?
More than three yes answers suggests gambling has moved past recreation. The national helpline below is a better next step than another deposit.
Control tools in your Luckyclint account
Every account offers deposit limits, loss caps, session timers and self-exclusion. These are operator-provided tools, administered through the responsible-gambling menu in your account settings—not by this information portal. We describe what each one does; the operator processes the request.
Deposit and loss limits
Set a ceiling on how much you can deposit per day, week or month. Once the limit is reached, the cashier will not accept further deposits until the period rolls over. Loss limits work the same way but track net losses instead of gross deposits.
The limit takes effect immediately. Increasing it requires a cooling-off period—typically 24 hours—so you cannot raise the cap in the middle of a losing streak. Lowering it applies straight away.
Session and wager limits
A session timer logs you out automatically after the time you set, whether that is 30 minutes or two hours. A wager limit caps how much you can stake in total over a day or week, stopping play once the threshold is hit.
Both tools require you to set them before the session starts. You cannot extend the timer or lift the wager cap while playing.
Time-out and cooling-off
A time-out locks your account for a period you choose—24 hours, a week, a month—and prevents deposits, wagers and logins until it expires. Use it when you need a break but are not ready to self-exclude permanently.
A cooling-off period is shorter, usually 24 to 72 hours, and gives you space to reconsider a decision made in frustration or after a loss. The account reopens automatically at the end.
Self-exclusion through the operator
Self-exclusion closes your account and blocks new registrations under your name for a minimum period, typically six months to five years, or permanently. The operator will also suppress marketing emails and texts.
To request it, contact our support team through the account's responsible-gambling page or by emailing the address shown there. Include your registered email and state the exclusion length you want. The block is processed within 24 hours.
Self-exclusion with us alone does not block other operators. For coverage across multiple sites at once, use BetStop—the national register described below.
National support services in Australia
These resources are free, confidential, and run independently of any gambling operator. You do not need to be in crisis to use them.
National Gambling Helpline
Call 1800 858 858, any time of day or night, seven days a week. The line connects you to a trained counsellor who can listen, talk through options, and refer you to local services if needed. Online chat and email counselling are also available through Gambling Help Online.
BetStop – the National Self-Exclusion Register
BetStop is a free, government-run register that excludes you from all licensed Australian online and phone wagering providers at once. You register at betstop.gov.au, and the block takes effect across every participating operator within 24 hours.
The minimum exclusion is three months; you can choose longer, up to a permanent block. Once registered, operators must refuse your bets and block new accounts opened under your details.
Important: BetStop covers licensed wagering providers. It does not cover online casino games, which are not lawfully provided to people in Australia under the Interactive Gambling Act.
International and peer support
Gamblers Anonymous runs peer-support meetings across Australia, both in person and online. Gambling Therapy offers free online counselling and a moderated forum at gamblingtherapy.org.
Blocking software such as Gamban and BetBlocker can be installed on your devices to prevent access to gambling sites. Both work across phones, tablets and computers, and cover thousands of domains.
Practical limits that work
These are not platitudes. They are habits that, when followed consistently, keep recreational play from sliding into something costlier.
- Decide the loss ceiling before the first bet. The figure should be money you have already written off—never rent, groceries or bill money. Once it is gone, the session is over.
- Set a deposit limit lower than you think you need. If $100 feels comfortable, set it at $75. The margin is where mistakes happen.
- Use a session timer every time. An hour passes faster than you think when you are focused on a screen. The timer pulls you out before the session stretches into the time you meant for something else.
- Never chase a loss. The urge to deposit again immediately after losing is the single clearest sign that gambling has stopped being entertainment. Walk away instead, and if you cannot, talk to someone—the helpline is free.
- Keep gambling separate from other accounts. Fund your account from a separate card or e-wallet with a fixed balance, not from your main bank account. That separation makes the loss real in a way a card payment often does not.
- If someone close to you raises concern, listen. They see patterns you might not, and they have no reason to exaggerate. Take the feedback seriously even if it feels uncomfortable.
Protecting minors
Our service is restricted to adults 18+. Registration requires date-of-birth verification, and accounts opened with false information are closed as soon as the discrepancy is detected.
If you share a device with someone under 18, use parental controls to block access to gambling sites. Both iOS and Android offer built-in restrictions, and router-level filters such as OpenDNS work across every device on the network.
Gambling should stay entertainment, not a problem. The tools above work when they are used early, before the cost—financial, emotional or relational—becomes something you cannot easily recover from. If you need help now, call 1800 858 858 or visit betstop.gov.au.
For questions about this page or the Luckyclint information portal, contact [email protected]. For account, deposit, withdrawal or verification issues, reach the operator's support team through the channels listed in your account.
Disclaimer: This site is informational in nature. It does not operate a casino, accept wagers, or organise gambling. Access is restricted to adults 18+ only. If you need support with gambling harm, contact the National Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858 or visit betstop.gov.au.
